J & J Construction is a nationally recognized commercial contracting company with a strong presence in airports across the United States. We are expanding operations in Texas and looking for a driven, hands-on leader to help us establish and grow our footprint in the Houston/IAH market.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Traveling Superintendent who is highly motivated, organized, and a true self-starter. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of airport construction and is ready to take ownership of both project delivery and market development in Texas.
This position combines field leadership with business development responsibilities – ensuring projects are executed safely and successfully while also helping to identify and pursue new opportunities in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate all phases of construction projects at IAH and other Texas airports.
- Manage subcontractors, schedules, quality control, and jobsite safety.
- Provide clear communication with clients, owners, and internal teams.
- Take initiative in building J & J Construction’s presence in Texas by:
- Identifying small works/ticket work opportunities.
- Building local client and vendor relationships.
- Supporting project managers and estimators in securing new work.
- Travel as needed across projects in the region.
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably in airports or secure facilities.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety protocols, and scheduling.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel frequently as projects require.
- Self-motivated with the drive to build and grow a regional market presence.
