About Us

J & J Construction is a nationally recognized commercial contracting company with a strong presence in airports across the United States. We are expanding operations in Texas and looking for a driven, hands-on leader to help us establish and grow our footprint in the Houston/IAH market.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Traveling Superintendent who is highly motivated, organized, and a true self-starter. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of airport construction and is ready to take ownership of both project delivery and market development in Texas.

This position combines field leadership with business development responsibilities – ensuring projects are executed safely and successfully while also helping to identify and pursue new opportunities in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all phases of construction projects at IAH and other Texas airports.
  • Manage subcontractors, schedules, quality control, and jobsite safety.
  • Provide clear communication with clients, owners, and internal teams.
  • Take initiative in building J & J Construction’s presence in Texas by:
    • Identifying small works/ticket work opportunities.
    • Building local client and vendor relationships.
    • Supporting project managers and estimators in securing new work.
  • Travel as needed across projects in the region.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably in airports or secure facilities.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety protocols, and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently as projects require.
  • Self-motivated with the drive to build and grow a regional market presence.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Travel per diem and expenses covered.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in developing our Texas operations.
  • Growth potential within a well-established, nationwide contractor.
