AboutThe Role
New Gen Builders is hiring an Assistant Superintendent to support the field execution of ground-up residential construction projects in Houston. This is a junior, on-site role designed for someone early in their construction career who wants to learn how to run residential jobs from the ground up under experienced leadership. If you want to be on the jobsite every day, learn sequencing, inspections, trade coordination, and grow into a full Superintendent role -- this position is built for you.
WhatYou'll Do
- Work on-site daily, supporting active residential construction projects
- Assist with coordinating trades (framing, MEP, exterior, and interior finishes)
- Help prepare for and walk City of Houston inspections
- Learn to read plans, details, and scopes of work
- Support schedules and look-ahead planning
- Help keep jobsites clean, safe, and organized
- Track progress with photos, notes, and punch lists
- Communicate professionally with subcontractors and inspectors
- Learn how projects move from slab to final turnover
- Entry-level to junior experience in residential construction (foreman, lead carpenter, field assistant, or similar)
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Comfortable working outside on active jobsites
- Interest in growing into a Superintendent role
- Basic understanding of residential construction sequencing is a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, not required
- Must be able to work on-site in Houston (not remote)
- $40,000-$45,000 base salary, depending on experience
- $5,000 bonus based on performance
- Exposure to 10-15 projects per year
