Senior Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC Estimator

Turnkey Projects – Refrigeration & HVAC

Location: Houston and other locations to be determined-Travel will be required

We are seeking a high‑level Commercial Refrigeration and HVAC Estimator to support Turnkey mechanical projects for national and regional clients.

This position requires someone who can independently develop accurate project estimates
, coordinate with subcontractors, and help build complete scopes of work for turnkey proposals.

This is not a training position
. We are looking for someone who understands how projects are actually built and can take ownership of their numbers.

• 5+ years field experience in commercial refrigeration and/or commercial HVAC
• 5+ years estimating experience in commercial or industrial mechanical work
• Proven experience preparing complete and independent estimates
• Ability to read and interpret full construction drawing sets and specifications
• Experience soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids

• Working with local subcontractors to obtain hard bids
• Scope writing and division of responsibility
• Bid leveling and subcontractor comparison
• Identifying scope gaps before proposal submission
• Coordinating pricing for electrical, piping, controls, and mechanical trades
• Experience working with general contractors or acting in a GC role is highly preferred

• Review plans, specifications, and bid packages
• Perform detailed takeoffs and prepare project estimates
• Identify trades required and solicit pricing from qualified subcontractors
• Level subcontractor bids and verify scope completeness
• Coordinate vendor pricing for equipment and materials
• Identify risks, exclusions, and constructability issues
• Assist in developing clear, professional proposal packages
• Support project handoff to operations after award

• Takes full ownership of their estimates
• Understands that accuracy protects margins and reputation
• Thinks through installation methods and sequencing
• Communicates clearly with subcontractors and vendors
• Works independently and manages deadlines
