Job OverviewHass Co, LLC is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Heavy Civil Estimator to join our underground/civil division. This is a dynamic, multi-faceted leadership role responsible for managing the full lifecycle of projects—from identifying and bidding opportunities to overseeing execution through completion.
The ideal candidate will combine strong estimating expertise with field coordination capabilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within scope. This role is critical to supporting company growth, maintaining client relationships, and driving operational excellence across multiple heavy civil projects.

Key Responsibilities- Review and evaluate bid opportunities, including platforms such as Construct Connect.
- Coordinate estimating efforts with project management and field operations to ensure constructability.
- Perform detailed takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Develop complete, compliant proposals and ensure timely bid submissions.
- Assign and manage estimating workloads to meet strict deadlines.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather critical project information.
- Maintain pricing databases, historical cost data, and estimating procedures.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Utilize spreadsheets, bidding software, and scheduling tools.
- Perform detailed calculations including quantities, percentages, volumes, and cost analysis.
- Oversee field operations to ensure adherence to safety standards, schedules, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials allocation.
- Schedule testing and inspections; ensure timely reporting.
- Identify and resolve project challenges collaboratively with management.
- Prepare and submit pay applications and invoices; assist with collections when necessary.
- Solicit and negotiate competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Analyze proposals for cost efficiency and accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities and growth initiatives.
- Enforce all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) standards.
- Manage documentation, reporting, and incident response in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure projects comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Proven experience estimating heavy civil or underground construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost controls, and scheduling.
- Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and bidding platforms.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience managing field coordination or project execution preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.

Full-Time
Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on project demands and bid deadlines.
Work LocationBased in Houston, TX.
Occasional local travel to project sites, pre-bid meetings, and vendor coordination activities. Travel is primarily day trips within the region.
