Commercial Construction Project Executive - Mission Critical Job Description

The Project Executive role is to effectively manage both small and large scale projects from discovery and design to development and implementation. A Project Executive is responsible for all of the duties performed by the Project Manager as well as the following:
Responsibilities- Maintains adherence to HITT’s standards of safety
- Ensures all job processes are followed in accordance with HITT policies
- Negotiates terms and conditions of contracts with clients
- Monitors the progress of each project through updated schedules
- Ensures that the project Quality Control Plan is followed
- Assists project staff in resolving scope problems with subcontractors
- Ensures proper assignment and evaluation of field personnel both within the project team and throughout the company
- Identifies and negotiates time extensions where justified and allowed
- Acquires new work as well as maintaining existing clients
- Maintains positive relationships with the subcontractor community
- Ensures timely completion of closeout process
- Leads the preconstruction and RFP package effort with the help of the Preconstruction Department and/or other company resources
- Delegates responsibility when necessary to ensure that the project/tasks run smoothly
- 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
- Prior healthcare construction project experience required
- A four‑year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred; in lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable
- Previous experience in a project management role with the ability to execute multiple projects and/or simultaneously
- Ability to master sector/project‑specific software systems including but not limited to:
Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Pro Core, Adobe, Blue Beam, JD Edwards - Mastery of reading construction drawings; tasks including reading, interpreting, and updating construction project‑related drawings
- Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
- Knowledge of current market conditions including pricing conventions and trends
- Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills; presents complex information clearly and concisely
- Shows initiative, seeks responsibility, and demonstrates integrity consistent with The HITT Way and HITT’s core values
- Seeks continuous improvement of knowledge and abilities, focusing on self‑improvement
- Recognizes quality and implements contractual and HITT quality standards
- Adapts and exercises flexibility with the ever‑changing world of technology, design, means and methods

- Coaches, trains and educates assistant level operations team members
- Sustains existing client relationships and develops new client relationships
- Prepares to discern task priority and multitasks effectively, exhibiting respectfulness through punctuality, focus, and respect for others
