Senior Project Manager - Underground Infrastructure

Location: Greater Houston Area

A growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex underground infrastructure and trenchless construction projects across the Texas market. This role will lead project execution from preconstruction through closeout, managing operations, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships on large‑scale civil projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations for underground utility, tunneling, or trenchless infrastructure projects
  • Oversee project schedules, forecasting, cost controls, and financial performance
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and material procurement
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and quality expectations
  • Review drawings, technical documents, RFIs, submittals, and contract requirements
  • Lead progress meetings and maintain communication with owners, consultants, and internal leadership
  • Support change order management, billing processes, and project reporting
  • Develop short‑term look‑ahead schedules and maintain project milestones
  • Mentor project staff and provide leadership across field and office operations
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within heavy civil or underground construction
  • Experience with trenchless, utility, tunneling, pipeline, or related infrastructure work preferred
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and project controls
  • Ability to manage large‑scale infrastructure projects in fast‑paced environments
  • Experience reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
