We're partnered with a reputable commercial general contractor in Houston that is looking to bring on an Estimator due to continued growth.
This individual will play a key role in the preconstruction process, working on a variety of ground-up commercial projects from initial pricing through bid submission. The company has a strong backlog of work and a solid reputation in the Houston market.
Responsibilities- Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for commercial ground-up projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Develop budgets and conceptual estimates during preconstruction
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure accurate project handoff
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Help prepare bid proposals and participate in project interviews when needed
- 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
- Ground-up commercial construction experience is required
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
