Construction Manager Supervisor (Asphalt)
Webber, a Ferrovial company located in Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee construction crews and manage material, equipment, and safety compliance on highway and road construction projects.
Responsibilities- Provide management for construction crew and their material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule.
- Oversee heavy highway construction activities including earthwork, dirt, and pavement.
- Manage skilled craftsmen on challenging construction projects.
- Create and complete a job safety analysis every morning to address safety concerns and ensure employees work in a safe manner.
- Supervise, manage, and direct training, development, appraisal, and work assignments for crew members.
- Maintain strong understanding of project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Oversee tools, materials, supplies, and equipment utilization.
- Respond promptly to site production issues.
- Accurately report crew hours and time on daily timesheets.
- Perform any other tasks that enhance company operations.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report all unsafe activities to the Safety Representative or supervisor.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership through example and knowledge sharing.
- Driver’s License, OSHA 10/30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
Less than High School Diploma.
Experience- 5+ years in highway and road construction.
- Knowledge of one or two phases of construction (e.g., Pipe, Dirt, Structures, Pavement).
Heavy physical activity; outdoor work in variable weather; exposure to noise, wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious places.
