The Facilities Project Inspection Supervisor plays a critical role within the Fire Safety and Construction Department at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, ensuring that all renovation and new construction projects meet applicable building codes and institutional specifications. The Facilities Project Inspection Supervisor supports a department that consistently maintains a code-compliant environment through professional expertise, inspections, and ongoing maintenance of life safety systems to protect patients, employees, and visitors.
As part of UT MD Anderson, the Facilities Project Inspection Supervisor contributes to an organization recognized worldwide for excellence in cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The Facilities Project Inspection Supervisor serves as a working supervisor, balancing hands‑on inspection responsibilities with leadership of the inspection team to support safe, compliant, and high‑quality facilities across the institution.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise the Facilities Project Inspection team. Assign projects and schedule inspections to ensure adequate coverage. Serve as lead inspector and communicate inspection issues consistently with team members.
ComplianceReview inspection reports for accuracy and completeness. Ensure inspections align with applicable building codes and UT MD Anderson specifications.
Program SupportPerform inspections as needed in support of departmental workload. Prepare reports for team activity, including agreed‑upon performance metrics.
Other DutiesPerform other duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.

The annual salary range for this position is Minimum $88,000.00 - Midpoint $ - Maximum $.
The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:30 am‑3:00 pm. This role is on‑site only in Houston, Texas.
EducationRequired:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Sciences, or another construction‑related field.
Required:
Five years of construction inspection experience or ten years of experience in related construction trades, including two years of supervisory experience. May substitute the required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one‑to‑one basis.
