Construction Estimator

Sincere Developers and Builders is adding a Construction Project Estimator to its growing team of construction professionals. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills related to construction estimating, expert level proficiency in reading all plans and specifications and be able to seamlessly work with the company's IT solutions.

• BSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant field required a minimum of
• 3 and up to 5 years of local general construction estimating preferred on commercial ground up projects
• Proven experience as a construction estimator for commercial ground up projects
• Expert knowledge of estimating civil, underground utility and concretek
• Deep understanding of data analysis and estimation metrics
• Thorough knowledge of Houston and greater Houston market area including area construction costs
• Comfortable with numbers and technology
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to track multiple sets of data
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Demonstrated proficiency in the areas of: on-screen takeoff, estimating, scheduling and budgeting/cost control
• Complete understanding and proficiency in reading quotes, budgets, plans and specifications and knowledge of construction cost codes
• Expert proficiency of using take off and estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification is preferred

• Proactively evaluate and pursue projects within the company's scope
• Acquire a detailed understanding of the requirements of the project under bidding
• Collaborate and maintain good communication with clients, management, project manager, design team, superintendent, subcontractors and vendors
• Visit project site as needed to gather essential information
• Review documents or consult relevant design consultants to collect all necessary data
• Perform takeoffs on computer software
• Organize and solicit bids from new and existing multiple subcontractors and material vendors for each project
• Vet each subcontractor's bid and ensure there are no scope gaps
• Create accurate and sound estimates from conceptual drawings through final plans
• Review contract documents and modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope change
• Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
• Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Foster ongoing relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, vendors, architects, etc.)
• Responsible for the overall bidding process with a keen focus on communications, detail, accuracy, quality, and profitability
• Ensure timely completion of multiple deliverables, and proactively address difficult situations in a positive cooperative manner
• Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor database with accurate pricing information
