Job Title:
Field Superintendent
- Oversee day-to-day field operations on interior commercial construction projects, ensuring the jobsite runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site activities, and schedules to drive project progress and maintain alignment with the project plan.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Partner closely with project managers to resolve field issues quickly, maintain project timelines, and support overall project delivery.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, and project documentation to track progress and communicate status to the project team.
- Enforce jobsite safety practices and promote a safety-first culture, including adherence to required PPE and site protocols.
- Monitor workmanship and materials to uphold quality standards throughout all phases of construction.
- Manage priorities in the field, adjust sequencing as needed, and keep projects moving efficiently despite changing conditions.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members to coordinate work and resolve conflicts.
- Support a collaborative, accountable field environment where team members take ownership and follow through on commitments.
- 3–5 years of construction experience in a field-based role, such as supervision or similar site-focused positions.
- Proven background in interior commercial construction, including tenant improvements, build-outs, and renovations.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Texas as projects require, including cities such as Houston, Austin, Dallas, and Laredo.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, for reporting, communication, and documentation.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with subcontractors, project managers, and broader project teams.
- Demonstrated coordination skills to manage multiple subcontractors, schedules, and site activities simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of jobsite safety practices and the ability to enforce safety protocols consistently.
- Residence in the Houston, TX area to support local and regional project needs.
- Hands‑on, organized, and dependable approach to field supervision with strong follow‑through.
- Ability to maintain a strong field presence and lead by example on active jobsites.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with commercial construction projects ranging from smaller interior build-outs to larger, more complex assignments.
- Construction management knowledge gained through prior field roles or related responsibilities.
- Background in site construction and commercial construction environments.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively and keep projects moving efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and take on increasing levels of leadership responsibility over time.
- Strong people skills and the ability to build productive relationships with subcontractors and project teams.
- Comfort working in a lean, fast‑moving organization where contributions are visible and valued.
- Motivation to progress into larger leadership roles through mentorship and hands‑on project experience.
This position operates in a hands‑on, field‑driven environment focused on interior commercial projects, ranging from smaller 5,000 square foot build‑outs to larger projects up to approximately $25 million in scope. The team structure is lean and collaborative, providing direct interaction with project managers and leadership, as well as strong mentorship and real‑time learning opportunities. The culture emphasizes practicality, accountability, and execution, with individuals trusted to take ownership of their work in the field.
Travel is project‑based and may include assignments in cities such as Houston, Austin, Dallas, and Laredo, depending on active projects. Work hours align with standard construction site schedules. The dress code is jobsite‑appropriate, with required personal protective equipment, reinforcing a safety‑first and professional environment.
