We are looking for an Estimator (Transmission) to help us deliver projects faster, smarter, and safer.

• Shared accountability for the overall financial performance of awarded projects.
• Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation for pricing.
• Perform estimate‑related oral and/or written communications with clients.
• Review project sites prior to price preparation.
• Collaborate effectively with Operations, PMO, and Owners staff as appropriate.
• Obtain input from Operations staff as appropriate.
• Perform quantity take‑off from construction drawings where applicable.
• Obtain pricing from suppliers/subcontractors and incorporate into estimate.
• Formulate all costs for tender submissions (labour, equipment, material, rentals, subcontracts).
• Accountable for accuracy and completeness of tender submissions.
• Oversee distribution of appropriate documentation upon award of projects.
• Manage scope change pricing as required.
• Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
• Provide technical support to field staff as appropriate.
• Drive estimating process/procedure compliance and consistency.
• Conduct bid handover meetings as required.
• Assist with prequalification, RFQs, and RFIs submissions as required.
• Incorporate and comply with Aecon's risk management policies and procedures.
• Drive positive relationships with clients, consultants, and key subcontractors.
• Protect proprietary information.
• Maintain estimating data systems to ensure they are up to date.
• Assist in training new estimating staff as appropriate.
• Perform repetitive data entry in a fast‑paced environment.

• Diploma or degree in Civil, Construction, Electrical, or Business.
• Minimum 7–10 years of estimating or operational experience in transmission or hydro infrastructure.
• Understanding of affiliated electrical systems an asset.
• Construction site experience considered an asset.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
• Thorough knowledge of contract language, terms and conditions, and bonding.
• Thorough knowledge of associated trades labour agreements and working rules.
• Good knowledge of job cost fundamentals and accounting/reporting.
• Self‑motivated with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Project, and estimating software).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
• Professional designation (e.g., Professional Engineer) an asset.
