We specialize in excavation, demolition, shoring, deep foundations, civil construction, concrete forming, waterproofing, landscaping, and full site preparation, delivering end-to-end solutions through our integrated group of companies.

Reporting to the Director, Iron Foundations, the Estimator will be preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and bids for heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, concrete, and underground utilities.

• Review tender drawings, specifications, contracts, addenda, and project requirements.
• Prepare complete cost estimates including labour, equipment, materials, and indirect costs.
• Independently develop project scope where no formal Scope of Work (SOW) exists, through interpretation of drawings, specifications, details, and contract documents.
• Prepare assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, qualifications, and identify project risks.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for earthworks, grading, hardscape, softscape, asphalt, fencing, miscellaneous metal works, and site restoration.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and other project documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for earthwork, concrete, and underground utility scopes.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, and production cost estimates based on self-perform construction methods.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations personnel, and executive leadership during estimating and bid review processes.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions when necessary.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and bid documentation.
• Track bid outcomes and assist in continuous improvement of estimating processes.

• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating and bidding heavy civil construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience estimating:
  Earthwork, Concrete construction, Underground utility projects
• Strong knowledge of the Texas construction market.
• Experience developing estimates from a self-perform contractor perspective.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong quantity takeoff and cost analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
