Overview
The Assistant Construction Manager is responsible for obtaining technical expertise in new home construction to establish a solid foundation and understanding of basic construction aspects. This position assists senior Construction Managers and supervisors in performing their duties.
Responsibilities- Complete Division and/or Construction Manager orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
- Develop literacy in building codes, construction and technical language, plan reading, materials, schedules, and methodologies.
- Assist others in performing duties, including monitoring job sites, validating schedule progression, coordinating inspections, reviewing customer care service process, ensuring work meets quality standards, and coordinating completion of work.
- Gain knowledge of Pulte systems and processes (Schedule, Field Purchase Order, Dynamics 365) and Build/Customer Quality Experience.
- Assist in scheduling and supervision of daily trade partner activities per job schedule and scopes.
- Monitor subdivision cleanliness and hold trade partners responsible for daily clean‑up.
- Understand scope of work for all trade partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations, and building codes preferred.
- Basic computer literacy.
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of prior relevant experience.
Valid driver’s license required.
Physical RequirementsPosition involves sitting, standing, driving, and/or movement, ability to exert a minimal force of up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds to carry, lift, push, pull, and otherwise move objects; must climb ladders, scaffolding, and other means to reach and observe all areas; ability to work in various weather conditions.
