We’re Hiring:
Senior Superintendent

The Senior Superintendent for GMi is responsible for managing the overall day-to-day functions of the field team(s) and projects assigned. This integral position is responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned projects, training the General/Jobsite Superintendent assigned to the projects, and customer relations on the projects assigned. Responsibilities include participating in buying out projects assigned, bringing them in on budget, and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and excellence in safety.

This is a multi‑functional position that requires the following skills & knowledge: jobsite management, workforce management, general management of others, strong leadership ability, ability to coach/teach, excellent communication skills, knowledge of GMi operational procedures, problem‑solving capabilities, and time management.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and audit company‑wide safety initiatives across assigned projects, ensuring full compliance with GMI safety standards and site‑specific requirements.
  • Partner with the Safety Director and project leadership to proactively prevent incidents, conduct audits, oversee training certifications, and drive a culture of accountability.
  • Oversee and enforce the Quality Control Program, ensuring all installations meet contract documents, specifications, and GMI standards.
  • Conduct routine audits of Superintendents and Foremen to verify safety, quality, documentation, and production performance.
  • Drive project success from turnover through completion — initiating kick‑off meetings, aligning field leadership with budgets, scope, sequencing, manpower plans, and production goals.
  • Monitor and audit project budgets, percent‑complete tracking, unit costs, labor efficiency, and material usage to protect profitability.
  • Lead manpower planning efforts, including hiring approvals, labor rate alignment, workforce performance audits, and supervision coverage.
  • Build and assign high‑performing project teams in collaboration with Project Managers and executive leadership.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule through proper sequencing, pull planning, and proactive identification of delays or inefficiencies.
  • Maintain full oversight of personnel, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, and documentation for assigned projects.
  • Conduct payroll audits and enforce proper time coding and labor accountability.
  • Mentor and develop Superintendents and field leaders to elevate production, quality, and leadership standards.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with General Contractors to support repeat business and long‑term partnerships.
  • Review monthly performance trends and take decisive action to improve safety, production, and profitability.
What We’re Looking For
  • Effective understanding and implementation of construction safety, including OSHA and other regulations, with a strong history of safety excellence.
  • Must have or be enrolled in OSHA 30 hour.
  • Team player capable of leading and managing an assigned team and working with other teams within GMi.
  • Strong decision‑making ability given complex operating, administrative, and procedural decisions with the ability to diagnose and quickly solve issues on the fly.
  • Strong experience in the construction field specifically the drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and exterior cladding trades.
  • Effective communication capabilities, both written and verbal, with the ability to follow through on documentation.
  • Knowledge of architectural design, planning principles, and procedures with technical knowledge of building components and their function.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms, including the understanding of federal, state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of construction contract documents and specifications.

    Knowledge of construction budgeting, specifically able to work with GMi’s budgeting procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills including defining, acquiring, deploying, and managing resources and establishing priorities.
