We are currently hiring multiple Superintendents across Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing/Piping, and Sheet Metal trades for commercial, healthcare, life sciences and data center construction projects. We are seeking experienced field leaders who can drive safety, quality, productivity, and successful project execution while leading teams in dynamic construction environments.

Position Summary

The Trade Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations, craft personnel, and subordinate supervisors on construction projects. This role provides leadership, coordination, scheduling, safety oversight, quality control, and workforce management to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Superintendents serve as the primary field leaders, working closely with project managers, customers, owners, general contractors, and trade partners to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage field operations for electrical, mechanical, plumbing/piping, or sheet metal construction activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct craft personnel to meet project schedules and labor requirements.
  • Supervise, support, and mentor foremen, lead personnel, and field supervisors.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and project resources to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Develop and manage work schedules and labor-loading plans.
  • Collaborate with project management teams regarding project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Interface with clients, owners, general contractors, and other subcontractors regarding project progress and coordination.
  • Monitor project performance, productivity, and work quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site‑specific requirements.
  • Investigate and report safety incidents, near misses, and workplace concerns.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule, safety, or cost.
  • Support quality control efforts and maintain high workmanship standards.
  • Assist with material procurement, inventory management, and equipment coordination.
  • Complete and review required project documentation including daily reports, timesheets, labor tracking, and safety records.
  • Participate in workforce development, training, and mentoring programs.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, evaluating, and developing field personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent trade experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of supervisory or superintendent-level experience in commercial construction.
  • Extensive experience within one or more construction trades:
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Plumbing/Piping
  • Sheet Metal
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, systems, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • OSHA‑30 certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team‑building skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and construction management software.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required depending on project location.
