OVERVIEW

Genesis Technical Staffing is currently seeking a Construction Manager to provide overall management direction for field construction projects; may on occasion be placed in the overall responsible position of a project in which case the additional duties of the Project Manager will also apply.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Position will supervise Project Superintendents, Craft Superintendent, General Foreman, and Foreman positions.

EDUCATION

Four‑year degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Construction Manager role. Must be able to effectively manage projects of varying size and complexity, including direct hire scope of 2 MM – 3.5 MM manhours. Must apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance and ensure cost and schedule adherence. Must have sound knowledge of these aspects and possess the skills to employ tact, diplomacy, and influence, understanding and managing inter‑working relationships between various craft trades and subcontractors, and anticipating and implementing corrective actions to limit potential labor‑related disputes.

Skills and Digital Collaboration Expectations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required for effective communication, reporting, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams is required, including participation in virtual meetings, collaboration through chat and channels, document sharing, and coordination with distributed project teams.
  • Ability to effectively use digital tools to support project coordination, reporting, scheduling updates, and communication across engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams.
  • Comfort working in a technology‑enabled construction environment, including use of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to access drawings, schedules, procedures, and project data.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving company systems, software platforms, and digital workflows as project and business needs change.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report to the assigned AOM, VP of Field Operations, and Sr. VP of EPC and Construction.
  • Make decisions and recommendations that significantly impact corporate relationships with clients and project profitability. Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through department heads.
  • Implement, manage, and provide safety leadership to ensure zero injury safety results.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and engineers to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on‑site Superintendents to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious delay situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the Company in project meetings, assist in any labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the Company’s interest while maintaining a good relationship with the client.
