NHPL is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-voltage substation construction projects within our transmission operations. Substation experience is our priority, but we will consider a strong transmission line PM with the right background. This role owns projects end to end: scope, schedule, budget, subcontractors, and the client relationship. They will serve as NHPL's face to the utility. We need someone who has been involved with substation work, can walk a job, and holds a project team accountable.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Substation Project Management
- 5+ years managing high-voltage substation construction
- Full ownership of project scope, schedule, budget, and change management from kickoff through energization
- Strong transmission line PM experience will be considered in addition to, or in place of, a pure substation background
Scheduling & Project Controls
- Microsoft Project - required
- Builds schedules from scratch, sets baselines, and produces meaningful variance and cost reports
- Reads critical path, flags risk before it becomes a problem, and ties schedule data to financial performance
- Comfortable owning project budgets, cost forecasting, and job cost structures
- Experience with change order justification, subcontract negotiation, and client-facing pricing

- Self-starter who anticipates problems and drives resolution without waiting to be told
- Thrives in a fast-moving construction environment with competing priorities and tight timelines
NICE TO HAVE
- PMP certification
- Familiarity with AEP, CenterPoint (CNP), Entergy, LCRA, or CPS Energy project environments
- Prior experience working within a Quanta Services subsidiary
- Background spanning both substation and transmission line work
- EPC estimating or bid-development experience
