Bridge Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead and oversee heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthwork, underground utilities, roadways, bridges, and public infrastructure projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage project documentation, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Direct and supervise field personnel, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Plan and coordinate daily construction activities and workforce utilization.
- Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor productivity and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
- Resolve field issues and construction challenges proactively.
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and jobsite audits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and DOT requirements.
- Maintain a strong culture of safety and accountability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
Required
- 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
- 3+ years in a Superintendent or equivalent leadership role.
- Experience managing projects valued at $10M+.
- Strong knowledge of: earthwork and grading, underground utilities, roadway and highway construction, public works infrastructure.
- Experience managing subcontractors and self-perform crews.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- DOT, Caltrans, municipal, or federal project experience.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Design-build project experience.
