The Project Safety Coordinator (PSC) will provide dedicated safety leadership for the GC while overseeing multiple trades and subcontractors across a complex commercial construction environment. This long-term opportunity is ideal for an experienced commercial building safety professional with a strong background working directly for general contractors on large-scale institutional, healthcare, or similar vertical construction projects.
Required Qualifications- Minimum7 consecutive years serving as a Project Safety Coordinator (PSC) dedicated solely to commercial building construction projects with a General Contractor (GC)
- Current
OSHA 500 Construction Trainer Certification - Current
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification completed within the last 2 years - Must have maintained all required training and continuing education within the previous 5 years
- Strong commercial building construction safety experience
- Experience overseeing multiple trades and subcontractors on large-scale construction projects
- Must be able to provide documentation verifying all required certifications, qualifying experience, and continuing education for client review and approval prior to mobilization
- Hospital or healthcare construction experience
- University or higher-education construction experience
- Parking garage or structural concrete construction experience
- Large-scale General Contractor project experience
- CHST, ASP, CSP, or additional BCSP credential
- Serve as the Project Safety Coordinator for the General Contractor
- Maintain a highly visible field presence across the project
- Provide safety oversight for multiple trades and subcontractors
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments
- Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, pre-task plans, and high-risk work activities
- Coordinate safety activities with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and craft personnel
- Support structural, concrete, MEP, and building construction activities
- Monitor fall protection, scaffolding, aerial lifts, material handling, crane operations, and elevated work
- Lead safety meetings, orientations, toolbox talks, and employee training
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and drive timely corrective actions
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses
- Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, training records, and compliance reports
- Support subcontractor accountability and corrective action follow-up
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
