Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 Base Salary + Benefits
The Opportunity:
We are partnered with a well-established industrial general contractor in the Houston market is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to its growing team. About the Company:
Our client is a specialist industrial general contractor delivering ground-up projects across the Greater Houston area. Their portfolio includes distribution centers, warehouse developments, manufacturing facilities, and tilt-wall construction projects ranging from approximately 50,000 to 500,000 square feet. Responsibilities:
Working closely with both the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of complex industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who wants to accelerate their career, develop client-facing experience, and build the skills necessary to progress into a Project Manager position.
- Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, procurement logs, and closeout packages
- Coordinate communication between field and office teams
- Support project schedules, look-ahead planning, and milestone tracking
- Assist with budgeting, change orders, vendor invoices, and cost tracking
- Coordinate subcontractors across civil, structural, MEP, and specialty trades
- Track quality control items, punch lists, and project compliance documentation
- Support procurement and material delivery schedules
- Prepare reports and project updates for clients, architects, and engineers
What We re Looking For
- 1-4 years of construction experience as an APM, Project Engineer, or similar role
- Commercial or industrial construction experience required
- Ground-up construction experience preferred
- Tilt-wall experience is a plus but not essential
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with clients and subcontractors
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and eager to grow into a Project Manager position
