What is the position?
The Offshore Construction Planner will support a major offshore construction project by developing, maintaining, and evaluating detailed execution schedules. This role works closely with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to monitor progress, anticipate schedule impacts, and develop solutions that help keep construction activities aligned with project objectives.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain integrated construction schedules covering offshore activities, milestones, dependencies, constraints, and resource needs.
- Partner with contractors and subcontractors to establish detailed execution sequences and ensure work fronts remain coordinated.
- Use Primavera P6 and, when appropriate, MS Project to build, update, and analyze project timelines.
- Monitor field progress and provide routine schedule updates to the lead scheduler, project team, and key stakeholders.
- Identify emerging schedule risks such as vessel standby, activity conflicts, bottlenecks, or potential delays before they affect execution.
- Develop recovery plans and alternative execution schedules to evaluate schedule, cost, and risk implications.
- Coordinate regularly with project personnel, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep deliverables and construction activities aligned.
- Translate complex offshore scopes into logical vessel work fronts and actionable construction sequences.
- Previous planning or scheduling experience supporting offshore construction projects.
- Demonstrated exposure to offshore scopes such as pipelay, infield development, diving, dredging, trenching, or similar marine construction activities.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6; experience with MS Project is also beneficial.
- Ability to interpret scopes of work, project drawings, schedules, and other technical project documentation.
- Experience supporting active, in-progress projects where schedule feedback and corrective actions must be delivered quickly.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with field personnel, contractors, project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ability to analyze complex construction sequences, recognize schedule risks, and develop practical mitigation strategies.
