Change Manager

As a Change Manager, you’ll lead the charge in managing project changes from identification through final closeout. You’ll ensure changes are properly documented, evaluated, approved, and incorporated into project cost and schedule while protecting the project’s commercial interests and maintaining strong coordination across all project stakeholders.

The Change Manager is responsible for overseeing the project change-management process, ensuring potential changes are identified early, properly evaluated, and supported by accurate scope, cost, schedule, and contractual information.

    • Oversee all aspects of the project change-management process, ensuring changes are properly identified, documented, reviewed, and approved.
    • Maintain change logs, status tracking, coding, approval workflows, and supporting documentation.
    • Identify and track potential change events, trends, RFIs, design developments, field conditions, allowances, buyout variances, and owner-directed changes.
    • Review contractor change proposals and verify scope, quantities, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor costs, markups, credits, allowances, and potential duplication.
    • Coordinate with project leadership, design teams, contractors, cost consultants, schedulers, procurement, and other stakeholders to evaluate and resolve changes.
    • Evaluate cost and schedule impacts, including critical-path, milestone, fragnet, and time-impact considerations where applicable.
    • Monitor cumulative change exposure, contingency usage, project trends, and forecast-at-completion impacts.
    • Identify opportunities for cost avoidance, value engineering, mitigation, recovery, and risk reduction.
    • Prepare change documentation and decision packages outlining scope, contractual basis, cost impact, schedule impact, risk, alternatives, and recommendations.
    • Track approved changes through contract modifications, budget transfers, forecast updates, and payment processing.
    • Support the review and resolution of disputed changes, claims, and contractual issues while maintaining required notices and documentation.
    • Maintain clear visibility of potential, pending, approved, disputed, and forecast changes throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Maintain accurate change reports, aging reports, exposure forecasts, and executive summaries.
    • Reconcile and close change records at project completion and support final account settlement.
    • Ensure project change documentation is complete, accurate, current, and readily available for audit and final project closeout.
Qualifications
  • Experience in construction change management, project controls, cost management, contracts, or commercial management
  • Strong knowledge of construction change orders, contractor proposals, cost analysis, and schedule impacts
  • Ability to review labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, markup, and quantity documentation
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, organization, reporting, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting major construction, EPC, capital, or mission-critical projects
  • Data center construction experience preferred
