Coordinates communications activities in support of a university program, including, but not limited to, publications, newsletters, annual reports, web site, and informational and solicitation materials.
General Communications Responsibilities- Edits College content across platforms, including websites, social media, newsletters, reports and marketing materials, in accordance with AP style and College editorial standards.
- Writes original content tailored to specific audiences and platforms.
- Exercises editorial judgment to maintain consistency in tone, voice and style.
- Fact-checks information and coordinates content reviews with faculty and staff when appropriate.
- Selects, edits or creates visual assets to support posts.
- Monitors engagement and responds appropriately.
- Tracks performance and identifies trends to inform content strategy.
- Captures photography and video at College events and activities, which may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends.
- Conducts basic interviews for storytelling and promotional content.
- Edits and organizes visual assets for College use.
- Maintains photography and video equipment.
- Creates original graphic content for print and digital use that aligns with University and College brand standards.
- Designs materials that communicate messages clearly and visually.
- Prepares files for print, digital publication or vendor production.
- Coordinates with vendors as needed for design and production support.
- Updates and maintains College websites using a content management system.
- Reviews web content for accuracy and relevance.
- Manages multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with faculty, staff and partners.
- Maintains organized digital files and project documentation.
- Brings forward creative ideas that support College priorities.
- Represents the College at events and community engagements as needed.
- Experience managing social media platforms, including Linked In, Instagram, Facebook, You Tube and X.
- Experience in a variety of multimedia applications, including but not limited to web content management systems (Modern Campus), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.) and Canva.
Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
MQ:
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
