Full-Time Production Technician

KRIV FOX 26, the FOX owned-and-operated station in Houston, is transforming how local news is gathered and delivered. We no longer wait for appointed times to deliver content. We're a STREAMING FIRST news organization.

This role supports live and recorded news production in a fast-paced, automated broadcast environment.

• Switch and code live newscasts using the Ross Overdrive Automation System.
• Operate or support Vizrt / Tri Caster workflows.
• Manage audio, graphics, robotic cameras, studio lighting, floor directing, and live-shot coordination.
• Tune in and troubleshoot live shots with LiveU Central, microwave, and other transmission systems, in coordination with the Technical Operations Center.

• Production professional with hands‑on experience with live switching, technical directing, producing, or directing live news content in a deadline-driven control‑room environment.
• Prior experience as a director, technical director, or audio operator preferred; knowledge of Chyron or similar graphics systems also desired.
• Experience producing and writing content is a plus.
• Strong multitasking under pressure, clear communication, team collaboration, and rapid adaptation during breaking news.
• Flexible hours required, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, vacation coverage, and sick‑leave coverage.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

The pay rate for this role is $ per hour, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. This role is also eligible for benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union-represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
