OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week.

These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KRIV FOX 26, the FOX owned-and-operated station in Houston, is transforming how local news is gathered and delivered. We no longer wait for appointed times to deliver content. We’re a STREAMING FIRST news organization.

We are seeking a Full‑Time Production Technician to join our news team.

Responsibilities include switching and coding live newscasts using the Ross Overdrive Automation System
, operating or supporting Vizrt / Tri Caster workflows
, audio, graphics, robotic cameras, studio lighting, floor directing, and live‑shot coordination. The position also works with the Technical Operations Center to tune in and troubleshoot live shots using LiveU Central
, microwave, and other live transmission systems.

The ideal candidate is a production professional who can operate confidently in both traditional and digital‑first environments, has hands‑on experience with live switching, technical directing, producing, or directing live news content in a deadline‑driven control room environment. Prior experience as a director, technical director, or audio operator is preferred, along with knowledge of Chyron or similar graphics systems. Experience producing and writing content is a plus.

Candidates must be able to multitask under pressure, communicate clearly, work well in a team environment, and adapt quickly during breaking news. Flexible hours are required, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, vacation coverage, and sick‑leave coverage.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $ per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
