Piano accompanist for voice class, juries, student recitals, rehearsals and performances
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accompanies voice class and other related disciplines.
- Rehearses and accompanies students for solos performed in voice class and student recitals.
- Participates in and accompanies student juries – vocal and instrumental.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION
- Graduation from high school supplemented by private or college‑level training in piano.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years’ experience as an accompanist required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience playing and knowledge of instrumental, vocal and choral repertoire.
- Advanced sight reading skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff in a diverse environment.
