Houston Life is KPRC 2's multi-platform lifestyle brand dedicated to helping Houstonians discover the people, places, experiences, and ideas that make life in our city better. Through original content across television, streaming, web, and social, we connect audiences with the stories that matter while helping local businesses authentically reach new customers.

Ready to create content that lives everywhere? We're looking for a curious, digital-first storyteller to help shape the future of Houston Life by creating compelling content across broadcast, streaming, web, and social - while co-hosting our live, one-hour daily lifestyle show.

This is more than an on-air role; it's an opportunity to help shape the future of Houston Life as a true multi-platform content creator. Success isn't measured by how much time you spend on television. It's measured by your ability to create content that audiences value and advertisers want to be part of.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Co-host a live, daily talk show - leading both scripted and unscripted segments with confidence and personality
• Own stories end-to-end: pitch, shoot, write, edit, publish, and optimize content for broadcast, streaming, web, and social platforms.
• Collaborate with producers, photographers, and the sales team to develop compelling editorial and branded content opportunities
• Actively promote stories across social media before, during, and after they air - driving engagement and conversation
• Conduct engaging live and taped interviews that inform, entertain, and connect with viewers
• Contribute fresh ideas for long-term storytelling, special series, and cross-platform initiatives
• Represent Houston Life throughout the community by building authentic relationships that inspire future stories and grow audiences across platforms
• Continuously experiment with emerging technology, platforms, and storytelling techniques to grow audience and engagement

WHAT YOU MUST BRING:

• A strong on-air presence and excellent ad-libbing skills
• A proven ability to independently shoot, write, edit, and publish original content
• A natural curiosity and the ability to consistently discover compelling stories, people, and experiences
• The ability to work quickly, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high production standards
• A collaborative, creative, and team-first mindset

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 5 years of professional live on-air hosting or reporting experience in a television news or lifestyle environment
• Minimum 3 years of experience shooting, writing, editing material for broadcast and digital
• Strong internal and external communication skills across teams and platforms
• Deep understanding of current and emerging social media platforms and audience engagement strategies
• Availability for a full-time M-F schedule, with occasional evenings/weekends for special events
• Must understand KPRC 2’s presence in the community and the core values associated with our brand
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
