Traveling Action​/Sports Stills Photographer

DanceBUG Inc. seeks a Traveling Live Action / Sports Stills Photographer to capture dynamic imagery at dance competitions and events across North America. In this on-site role, you'll photograph live performances, award ceremonies, and behind-the-scenes moments, working closely with video and streaming teams to ensure full event coverage. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining gear, shooting high-speed action in challenging lighting, editing and retouching images for rapid delivery, and managing large photo libraries.

Ideal candidates bring a strong sports or performance photography portfolio, comfort with extensive travel, and a passion for the performing arts and live events.

Responsibilities

• Travel to dance competitions and events across North America to capture high-quality still images of live performances and candid moments.
• Set up and manage on-site photography gear, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and backup equipment.
• Collaborate with video, streaming, and production teams to coordinate shot lists and coverage.
• Edit, retouch, and prepare images for quick turnaround, online galleries, and media delivery.
• Maintain organized file management and backup processes for large volumes of event images.
• Interact professionally with event organizers, studios, dancers, and families to ensure a positive client experience.
• Adapt shooting style to varying lighting conditions, stage layouts, and fast-paced schedules.
• Follow brand guidelines and technical standards to ensure consistent image quality across events.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of photography workflows, tools, and best practices.
• Uphold safety, reliability, and professionalism while traveling and working long, active event days.
