Openwork is now hiring Window Tellers to support operations at the Harris County Tax Office. This opportunity places you at the heart of public service, where professionalism, accuracy, and service excellence are essential.

As a Window Teller
, you will serve as a key point of contact for residents accessing essential services such as vehicle registration, tax payments, and title transfers. This is an excellent entry point into government work—with a structured path toward permanent employment and advancement.

• Greet and assist residents at the counter with transactions including vehicle registrations, title transfers, and property tax payments
• Accurately process a variety of payments: cash, check, credit/debit, and e-check
• Verify documents and identification, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state/county procedures
• Balance cash drawer daily and complete transaction reports
• Deliver prompt, courteous service in a busy queue setting
• Maintain accurate data entry and follow confidentiality protocols
• Support daily office operations and collaborate with other team members
• Be available to travel to other branches for training or operational coverage as needed

• Minimum of six (6) months of RECENT face-to-face customer service experience, including cash handling, in a retail, banking, or related operational environment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution within the U.S.
• Typing speed of at least 30 + wpm
• Strong math and data entry skills
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bonus: Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese (not required but appreciated!)

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Must be available for occasional Saturdays and open to traveling to other branches for training or operational support)
• Pay: $15/hour, paid weekly
• Type: Temp-to-Hire with the potential for permanent placement

• Location: Multiple locations across Harris County
