Customer Service Representative
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team in a fast-paced industrial distribution environment supporting metalworking and manufacturing customers. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships, processing orders, preparing quotes, solving problems, and supporting both customers and the outside sales team. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a high-volume environment where urgency and customer service matter.
This position plays a key role in helping customers keep their operations running by providing accurate information, fast communication, and reliable support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers with product inquiries, pricing, availability, and order status
- Process orders and quotes accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, vendors, and outside sales teams to meet customer needs
- Help resolve shipping, delivery, and order issues quickly and professionally
- Source products and recommend alternative solutions when needed
- Maintain accurate customer and order information within ERP systems
- Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-up
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Support outside sales representatives with account and customer support activities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of customer service or inside sales experience in industrial distribution, metalworking, cutting tools, or industrial supply preferred
- ERP experience preferred (Infor / Prophet 21 experience is a plus)
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Strong computer and data entry skills
