Dental Hygiene Clinic Dentist

Schedule:
Fridays (8 Hours/Week)
Pay Range: $ per hour
Step out of private practice for a day and into the heart of dental education. As a Clinic Dentist at our Houston campus, you are the final clinical authority in our student-led hygiene clinic. You will provide the essential diagnostic evaluations and student oversight that allow our Dental Hygiene students to safely and effectively care for the community.
Essential Functions- Diagnostic Leadership:
Conduct patient examinations, provide diagnostic evaluations, and prescribe necessary radiographs or medications. - Student Supervision:
Provide clinical oversight and consultations, evaluating student progress and technique in a real-time clinical setting. - Collaborative Instruction:
Partner with Dental Hygiene faculty to reinforce didactic principles and support student skill development. - Emergency Management:
Serve as the lead clinician for consultations in complex patient situations or medical emergencies. - Administrative Stewardship:
Maintain meticulous patient records and approve diagnostic findings in compliance with state regulations and CODA standards. - Calibration:
Participate in faculty meetings and calibration sessions to ensure consistent grading and clinical expectations.

You enjoy teaching the "art of the exam" and helping students understand the systemic connections in oral health. - A Team Player:
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside hygienists and clinical staff to provide a seamless patient experience. - Patient-Centered:
You maintain the highest standards of care while fostering a supportive learning environment for students.
- Education:
DDS or DMD degree from a USDE-recognized accredited institution. - Credentialing:
Graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). - Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a practicing dentist. - Licensure:
Current Texas Dental License and all state-required certifications (including CPR). - Technical Literacy:
Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; experience with Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred.
- Hourly Pay: $48.01-$62.41
