Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

The Dental Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental care services to dental patients, as well as, administrative duties, for the Harris County Jail. This position is 80% clinical and 20% administrative. Administrative duties include quality assurance program, policy and procedure creation/review, dental standards of care and protocol implementation, and monitoring benchmarks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degrees: Doctor of Dental Services (DDS) Required
  • Advanced training (GPR, AEGD): preferred
  • Licenses & Certification: Texas State Board of Dental Examiners;
    Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP) certification to be completed within one (1) year if not held at time of appointment.
  • Work Experience: Three (3) years of direct dental services experience.
  • Management

    Experience:

    Two (2) years of experience with oversight of dentists and dental assistants.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Above average verbal communication (heavy public contact); exceptional verbal (public speaking); writing/correspondence; writing/reports.
  • Proficiencies: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
