The Dental Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, supporting dentists and hygienists in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, arranging instruments and materials, and assisting during dental procedures such as exams, cleanings, fillings, and orthodontic treatments. The Dental Assistant will take and process digital X-rays, maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols, and ensure accurate patient records and documentation.
Additional tasks include educating patients on oral hygiene, coordinating with front office staff for smooth patient flow, and helping maintain equipment and supplies to support a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Demonstrated skills in Dental Assisting, including chairside support during a variety of dental procedures.
- Knowledge of Dental Care and Dentistry principles, with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Ability to provide effective Oral Care education and post-treatment instructions to patients.
- Proficiency in Sterilization and infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent experience; current state-required certifications (such as radiology or CPR) preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental office.
- Attention to detail, reliable time management, and commitment to following clinical protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in a general or orthodontic dental practice is a plus; bilingual skills are beneficial.
