Exacta, dba WINDROSE is one of the nation’s premier residential and commercial land surveying companies. Exacta provides services in Ohio, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Texas. Services include all types of residential, commercial, construction and ALTA/NSPS surveys with a commitment of accurate and timely delivery to our clients. Our surveys provide an important component for real estate type transactions involving buyers and sellers, title companies, lenders, attorneys, and real estate agents.

We are hiring a Platting Drafter to support a growing platting department as part of a team restructure and internal promotion. This role is 100% production drafting focused on subdivision plats and is not a management or leadership position.

The Platting Drafter will work within established company templates and drafting standards to produce high-volume municipal plat deliverables with accuracy and consistency. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys heads‑down drafting, thrives in a deadline‑driven environment, and understands how to correctly interpret title and easement information.

Monday through Friday, 7am – 4pm with some weekends required during seasonal months.

Team members will report to the office in Houston, TX 77041

• Draft preliminary and final subdivision plats using established company templates
• Produce accurate plat layouts, including:
• Lot and block layouts
• Bearings and distances
• Curve tables
• Easements, dedications, and rights-of-way (ROW)
• Notes, certifications, and jurisdiction-specific formatting
• Review title commitments, easement documents, and exhibits to accurately incorporate restrictions and encumbrances
• Prepare plats in compliance with city, county, and drainage district submittal standards
• Revise drawings based on review comments, redlines, and resubmittals
• Maintain drafting accuracy and completeness to minimize rework and prevent submittal delays

• High-volume plat production with multiple active plats in queue
• Heavy municipal requirements and jurisdiction-specific nuances
• Primary submission volume includes:
• Harris County (majority of work)
• Montgomery County
• Chambers County
• City of Houston
• Area drainage districts (e.g., Katy-area requirements)

• A platting team of approximately 7–8 team members
• Internal stakeholders supporting drafting standards and production workflows

This role is strictly a production drafting position and is not responsible for client coordination, municipal submittals, proposal preparation, template creation, or team management.

• Minimum of high school diploma/GED diploma required;
  Associates / Technical Degree or higher preferred.
• Drafting experience supporting survey platting or similar land development deliverables
• Strong understanding of plat components, including easements, ROW, boundary annotation, and labeling
• Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail with a quality‑control mindset
• Ability to work in-office consistently (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Attention to detail is a must
• Valid Driver’s License

• Experience drafting plats for Texas municipalities, particularly Harris County and surrounding jurisdictions
• Carlson drafting experience
• Civil 3D drafting experience with willingness to learn Carlson
• Experience reviewing and applying title documents and easement exhibits
