Architectural Staff II
Role
Description:
Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Architectural Staff II at our Houston Downtown office. This role supports design teams in preparing design and construction drawings and assisting in construction administration for various projects which are in our Institutional Practice and consist primarily of Healthcare and Education projects. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and 2 to 3 years' architectural experience producing detailed and well-documented construction documents in Revit.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in architecture required, Master's degree in Architecture preferred
Duties:
* Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development
* Prepares project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment
* Prepares various documents during the course of the project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc.
* Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings, if needed.
* Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor.
* Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation
* Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review.
* Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence if needed
* Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents
* Select and prepare material finish boards/binders
* Some travel to construction job sites and client meetings
Key Responsibilities:
* Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process.
* Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other.
* Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
* Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
* Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the project team and office.
* Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
* Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments.
Qualifications:
* Completed Bachelors in Architecture.
* 2 to 3 years of related experience in institutional projects.
* Should be engaged in AXP and actively pursuing licensure.
* Ability to read red lines and modify Revit models and other documents accurately.
* Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong problem solving/analysis, and technical capacity.
* Ability to research and apply building codes.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong task-oriented time management.
* Possess collaborative teamwork abilities.
