This position is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs. It provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects, independently applying advanced architectural concepts and designs. The role carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures and may provide technical guidance to less experienced architects.
DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with design presentations and project design development with limited oversight.
- Follow firm-wide standards and assist other staff.
- Observe and repeat design processes with minimal oversight.
- Assist in project design development with increasing independence.
- Provide support to ensure consistent, high-quality designs firm-wide.
- Assist with plans, drawings, and expand into more intricate levels of detail.
- Collaborate with senior architectural team and take initiative to apply gained experience.
- Contribute to the development of documents, files, BIM models with decreasing oversight.
- Assist in documenting and recording communication with team members, consultants, and contractors.
- Expand knowledge of industry standards, trends, technologies, and best practices through documentation.
- Extend studies on codes to explore alternative design solutions or interpretations.
- Initiate coordination and communication between design team and confirm appropriate documentation.
- Illustrate BIM progression and continual growth.
- Share observed components from Associate I with others.
- Apply prior designs/projects to future ideas.
- Review projects for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist quality control process to ensure work meets or exceeds standards.
- Assist with documentation and reporting of issues and progress of construction during site visits.
- Utilize technology and software tools for drafting and show progression.
- Take advantage of professional development opportunities via continuing education and provide feedback.
- Seek out expanded, qualified opportunities to complement current experiences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
