Architectural Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead architectural projects from concept through construction administration. The role combines design leadership, client relations, construction management and team coordination to deliver high-quality, code-compliant buildings on time and on budget. The ideal candidate will bridge creative design and practical construction delivery, ensuring technical accuracy, strong client communication and effective site supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage architectural projects through all phases including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.
- Coordinate and collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors to integrate design intent with construction requirements.
- Develop, manage and monitor project budgets and schedules; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Serve as the primary client contact for project updates, presentations, scope management and issue resolution to maintain strong client relationships.
- Produce, review and coordinate technical drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Ensure all project work complies with applicable building codes, regulations and permit requirements; coordinate code compliance reviews and approvals.
- Provide site supervision and construction administration including site visits, contractor coordination, submittal and RFI review, punch lists and progress reporting.
- Prepare clear project communications and documentation using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
- Lead and mentor project teams, delegate tasks, conduct reviews and foster collaboration to deliver design excellence and operational efficiency.
- Oversee procurement, bidding and contractor selection processes and support contract administration and change order management.
- Implement quality assurance/quality control processes and resolve technical or design issues through constructive problem solving.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or related field; professional licensure (RA/RIBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience managing architectural projects from design through construction; demonstrated experience in both design and construction management.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for producing and coordinating architectural documentation.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, detailing and site supervision practices.
- Proven experience in budget preparation, cost monitoring and schedule management using industry-standard tools.
- Excellent client relations and communication skills with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated team leadership and staff mentoring skills; ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and external consultants.
- Strong problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with project management software.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required and participate in regular site supervision; valid drivers license preferred.
