We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Practice Manager to lead and grow our Landscape Architecture service line. This is a senior management role for a licensed professional who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, client relationships, and team development. The Practice Manager will shape the direction of landscape architecture at WGA: building the team, driving business development, and delivering exceptional work across our diverse portfolio of Texas and national projects.

Responsibilities

Practice Leadership & Design
  • Lead the landscape architecture practice at WGA, setting standards for design quality, project delivery, and client service across all office locations.
  • Direct the development of landscape architecture concepts, site plans, planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation plans, and construction documents across a range of project types.
  • Partner with civil engineering, planning, and other disciplines to integrate landscape architecture solutions into complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Lead master planning, parks and recreation design, streetscape improvements, trail systems, urban design, and community development projects from pursuit through closeout.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, ordinances, accessibility requirements, and sustainability goals while reflecting WGA’s commitment to design excellence.
Business Development & Client Management
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and build long‑term client relationships that generate recurring work for the landscape architecture practice.
  • Manage project financials including budgets, fee negotiations, invoicing, and profitability across the practice portfolio.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients, leading presentations, public meetings, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop landscape architecture staff, fostering a high‑performance team culture aligned with WGA’s values and growth goals.
  • Collaborate across WGA’s offices and disciplines to position the firm for multidisciplinary pursuits where landscape architecture is a key differentiator.
Project Delivery & Technical Oversight
  • Oversee the preparation and quality review of construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications across practice projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and related design software; champion adoption of tools and workflows that improve team efficiency and deliverable quality.
  • Apply expertise in site analysis, grading coordination, planting design, and material selection to guide teams and uphold design integrity through construction.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards for the practice, ensuring all deliverables meet WGA’s technical and professional benchmarks.
Qualifications Education / Licensure
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect (RLA) required.
