We are seeking an experienced Architectural Staff II/Architect II to support the technical design and coordination of large, complex architectural projects. This role is responsible for contributing to project planning, design development, and construction documentation while applying architectural concepts and technical documentation to each project. The ideal candidate is a strong designer who can work independently, solve complex design challenges, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Architectural Staff II / Architect II professionals are expected to take ownership of significant portions of project work, contribute innovative solutions, and provide technical support to junior staff.
PositionPreferred Qualifications:
- Active Professional Architect (PA) license in Texas.
- LEED (or similar) accreditation
- Proven track record handling the technical aspects of full-service architectural projects from concept to completion, including coordination and integration of all subconsultant disciplines.
- Ability to present technical and design solutions directly to clients with confidence.
- Experience mentoring younger team members.
- Experience in one or more of the following market sectors: higher education, aviation, civic, cultural, K-12, workplace, sports & rec.
- Experience with construction administration and/or field observation.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program with a minimum of 5 years professional post-graduate experience in the United States
- NCARB record established, working towards completion of AXP hours and currently testing to achieve licensure
- Takes ownership of specific project-related tasks with minimal oversight from project leadership.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through design.
- Demonstrates successful comprehension and application of building codes, project specifications and project constraints through preparation of design options.
- Demonstrates a familiarity with cost estimates and the scope-to-budget process.
- Detail-oriented and results-focused, with a commitment to high-quality work.
- Has basic understanding of sustainable design practices and rating systems.
- Has excellent communication skills and exposure to working in group or team settings.
- Ability to present technical and design solutions directly to project leadership and consultants with confidence.
- Technical expertise in Revit, Bluebeam and the Microsoft Suite is mandatory. Experience with Enscape, the Adobe Suite, Rhino, Sketchup and Affinity software is desirable.
- Work closely with Project Leadership to contribute to the technical design and documentation of comprehensive project plans while coordinating with consultants.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents, technical details and project specifications.
- Manages specific technical design elements and independent design solutions for assigned projects.
