The Designer role is a part-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. In this role, the Designer meets with clients to understand their storage needs, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences, then develops custom design solutions for drawers, shelves, and cabinetry. Day-to-day tasks include taking measurements on-site, creating design plans and visual presentations, and collaborating with installation and production teams to ensure accuracy and quality.
The Designer prepares detailed proposals, updates project documentation, and communicates timelines and expectations clearly to clients. This role also involves refining designs based on feedback, maintaining product and material knowledge, and contributing to a positive, professional customer experience from initial consultation through final installation.
- Strong client-facing skills, including active listening, needs assessment, and clear communication with a diverse range of homeowners.
- Competence in basic measuring, drafting, or design tools (digital or manual) to translate concepts into accurate plans.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and documentation simultaneously.
- Comfort working on-site in residential environments, including conducting walk-throughs and coordinating with installation teams.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-through.
- Previous experience in interior design, kitchen/bath design, cabinetry, or home organization solutions is not necessary but beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in design or related fields is a plus.
