The Project Architect/Architectural Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for leading projects from early design through construction completion. This role oversees the development of architectural drawings and specifications, coordinates Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, and manages submittals and other project documentation. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring design intent is maintained while meeting schedule, budget, and quality standards.
The position involves directing internal project teams, resolving technical and coordination issues, and supporting construction administration activities such as RFIs, field observations, and change management. The role also contributes to maintaining firm standards, mentoring emerging professionals, and supporting continuous improvement of design and delivery processes.
- Strong foundation in Architecture, including building systems, codes, and technical detailing (Requires 8+ years of relevant experience).
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows for design, documentation, and coordination.
- Experience managing Submittals, RFIs, and construction-phase documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field; professional licensure or progress toward licensure preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with commercial projects (e.g., retail, mixed-use, multifamily, hospitality, or similar sectors) is highly beneficial.
- Experience with relevant design and documentation software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX, manage multiple concurrent projects, and adapt to evolving client and project needs.
