Join Our Team as a Locum Physician – General Medicine AK

Are you a dedicated healthcare professional passionate about serving Veterans? We are seeking a motivated and experienced Locum Physician in General Medicine to provide vital medical evaluations across Alaska.

This role offers flexible PRN hours, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served.

In this position, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments, ensuring our nation's veterans receive the care and evaluation they deserve. Your expertise will support our mission to deliver high-quality, timely evaluations in a flexible, rewarding environment.

Required Skills:

  • MD or DO in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine field
  • Valid medical license in Alaska
  • Experience with compensation and pension examinations preferred
  • Strong interviewing and physical assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
  • Familiarity with medical documentation and report submission
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Prior experience with VA or military-related evaluations
  • Certification in disability exams or related areas
  • Ability to assess range of motion and muscle strength
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree and licensure in Alaska
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
  • Prior experience performing C&P exams or assessments is advantageous but not required
Other Requirements:
  • Candidates must have their own office location within specified areas (Juneau, Sitka, Delta Junction)
  • Possession of all necessary certifications and licenses
  • Willingness to work on a PRN, ongoing basis, with flexible hours
  • Travel expenses included when applicable
  • Reliable internet connection and necessary equipment for report submission
