Opportunity:
Situated in the bustling Texas Medical Center, the Houston Methodist Division of Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to join a highly respected team of four dedicated IBD providers.
The successful candidate may be eligible, depending on academic rank and track record, for an endowed chair.

Clinical Care Overview:
- Diagnose and manage complex gastrointestinal conditions including IBD using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
- Support of multispecialty team to address all aspects of IBD including point of care intestinal ultrasound.
- Anticipated breakdown: 60% clinical; 40% procedures
- Participate in shared call
About Houston Methodist Gastroenterology & GI Surgery - Specialists at Houston Methodist Lynda K. and David M. Underwood Center for Digestive Health provide a patient-centric, comprehensive approach to the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Patients travel from Texas and around the country for nationally known, top-rated gastroenterology and GI surgery expertise in IBD at Houston Methodist.
- This program has active research studies in both clinical and translational areas with ongoing collaboration with clinicians and scientists across the country. Researech is supported, in part, by a multi-year gift to the Fondren Inflammation collaborative.
- Houston Methodist created an advanced fellowship in IBD in 2024.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- BC/BE in Gastroenterology
- Fellowship trained in Advanced Endoscopy
- Subspecialty certification in IBD
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
