Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - General Medicine in Houston, TX
Are you a dedicated General Medicine Physician seeking a flexible opportunity to serve Veterans while maintaining your professional autonomy? We are actively recruiting a qualified Locum Physician to provide essential Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-treatment, interview-based C&P exams and health assessments for Veterans.
- Perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete and submit detailed reports and addendums in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team to ensure quality care and compliance.
- Follow standardized protocols without prescriptive or treatment responsibilities.
- Current medical license in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialties.
- Experience with compensation and pension evaluations is preferred.
- Strong interview skills and physical assessment capabilities.
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Commitment to Veterans’ health and well-being.
Skills:
- Prior experience with Veterans’ healthcare assessments.
- Familiarity with government contracting processes.
- Additional certifications such as DMA or relevant training in disability evaluations.
Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state medical license.
- Experience in general medicine or a related specialty.
- Prior work in military or veteran healthcare settings is advantageous.
- Local candidates only; travel expenses included in the rate.
- Ability to work PRN, with the option to choose 4-hour or 8-hour shifts.
- Successful credentialing and onboarding process.
- No billing or treatment responsibilities; strictly assessment and documentation.
- Willingness to complete required training modules.
- Hourly Pay Rate: $624.00
- Flat Rates for
Shifts:
$800 (4 hours or less), $1,600 (full day) - One-time Bonus: $650 upon completing training and initial exams
- Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit.
