SummaryThe Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine is actively recruiting a Gastroenterologist to join Baylor College of Medicine. This position is part of our expansion e’s Health–The Woodlands Hospital, where the candidate will provide both outpatient and inpatient services. Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient clinics and inpatient service rotations. Additional duties involve direct patient care, teaching and mentoring trainees, and participating in section meetings and conferences.

- See and evaluate new and existing patients in a clinical setting, in addition to outpatient endoscopy sessions
- Participate in the inpatient consult service
- Develop a treatment plan for patients
- Meet physician productivity expectations established by the College
- Participate in all routine clinical meetings held with the immediate work group
- Maintain required certifications and licensing
- Become familiar with Electronic Medical Record system, enter data into EMR, and document all patient encounters with competency
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner to enable billing operations
- Order diagnostic services and referrals to specialists
- Be an active member of a clinical group practice, including educational activities such as participation in Grand Rounds, monthly faculty meetings & retreats
- Share call responsibilities within the clinical group and provide medical care to patients of other providers when they are not available
- Meet or exceed all quality indicators
- Maintain professionalism in relationships with students, faculty, ancillary and administrative staff
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, be highly self‑motivated, and work well in a team
- Complete and renew all professional billing and credentialing paperwork well ahead of expiration
- Terminal degree (MD or Ph.D.)
- Residency and fellowship training in Gastroenterology
