The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at McGovern Medical School (MMS), UTHealth Houston, is seeking its next Chief to lead the division’s mission of excellence in clinical service, education, and research. This is an opportunity to lead a community-focused clinical division in the Texas Medical Center.
Under the leadership of Professor and Chair Mary Aitken, the incoming Chief will create and implement the division's vision and goals, and mentor faculty and clinicians. The division includes ten gastroenterologists, six fellows, and is affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and Lyndon
B. Johnson Hospital. The division evaluates and treats a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders, with active programs in inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, aerodigestive conditions, celiac, and colorectal diseases.
The Pediatric Gastroenterology Division is ranked #30 in the US News and World Report Top Children’s Hospitals and is expanding outreach clinics. There is support for growth in advanced endoscopy and motility programs.
Ideal candidates are Associate or Full Professors with leadership experience in academic programs, and a commitment to excellence. Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, Texas licensure, and credentialing are required.
