In this role, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments with Veterans, focusing primarily on interview‑based evaluations complemented by physical assessments. There is no prescribing or treatment involved, allowing you to leverage your general medicine background in a mission‑driven setting. The position involves quick credentialing, minimal onboarding time, and ensures a consistent schedule aligned with your availability.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform non‑treatment medical evaluations for Veterans.
- Conduct interviews and physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Submit detailed reports and addendums promptly and accurately.
- Adhere to VES guidelines and scheduling requirements.
- Valid medical license in good standing.
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine fields.
- Experience with compensation and pension evaluations is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical examinations with professionalism and compassion.
Skills:
- Prior experience conducting Veterans examinations.
- Certification in relevant medical specialties.
- Familiarity with medical documentation and reporting software.
Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine.
- Prior experience in military or veteran health assessments is a plus.
- Must have own office within 50 miles of the specified city (for own office positions) or be within 50 miles of the designated location (for per diem roles).
- Willingness to work one‑day‑per‑week or as needed.
- Ability to complete exams within scheduled time frames.
- No travel reimbursement outside of accommodations included in rates.
- Start date:
February 13, 2026.
- Hourly rate of $624.00.
- Flat rates: $800 for half‑day (up to 4 hours) and $1600 for full‑day (5+ hours).
- One‑time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and first exams.
- Travel included in rates for local providers.
