Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - General Medicine Houston, TX

Are you a dedicated General Medicine physician seeking a flexible, impactful opportunity to serve Veterans across the country? This is your chance to make a meaningful difference while working on a PRN basis that complements your schedule. As a vital part of our healthcare team, you'll perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, helping Veterans receive the benefits they deserve.

Required Skills:

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

State medical licensure in good standing for Texas or ability to obtain

Active certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or related specialties

Experience with general medicine and prior exposure to compensation and pension evaluations

Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

Skills:

Prior experience in military or government healthcare settings

Knowledge of Veterans Affairs (VA) policies and procedures

Familiarity with telehealth technology and remote assessments

Bilingual skills or additional language certifications

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited medical school

At least 1-2 years of clinical practice in general medicine

Previous experience with Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessments

Other Requirements:

Candidates must be local to Houston, TX, or the specified open areas within a 50-mile radius

Willingness to complete required training and perform exams in various settings, including providers' own offices when applicable

Ability to commit to ongoing, PRN engagements scheduled as ½ or full days

No treatment or prescribing responsibilities involved

Reliable internet and access for administrative follow-up work

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $624.00, applicable for 4-hour shifts or less

Flat Rate: $1,600.00 for full-day (5 hours or more) shifts

Bonus:
One-time $650 for completing all training and initial exams

Travel and local expenses covered within rates; no additional reimbursements for certifications or training
