Exciting Opportunity for General Medicine Physicians as a Locum in Alaska

This role offers flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, and the chance to serve a noble cause – helping Veterans through Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Alaska.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct interview-based Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments with Veterans.
• Perform physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete exams primarily via interview, with minimal onsite physical exam.
• Submit detailed reports and addendums efficiently.
• No prescribing or ongoing treatment involved.
• Work independently at your own office location with occasional assignments within specified radius.

• Active medical license, board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine fields.
• Prior experience or training in compensation and pension assessments strongly preferred.
• Strong interview and physical assessment skills.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adhere to guidelines.

• Previous experience working with Veterans or within government contract settings.
• Familiarity with VA or DoD medical evaluation procedures.
• Background in disability evaluation or related assessments.
• Additional certifications in medical assessment or military medicine.

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties.
• Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations is advantageous.

• Must own or have access to a consultation space within specified locations in Alaska (Juneau, Sitka, Delta Junction).
• Willingness to perform exams on a PRN basis, with flexibility for half or full-day shifts.
• Travel and related expenses included in pay rates.
• Quick credentialing and onboarding process.
• Commitment to completing training and initial exams to qualify for bonuses.
